Dongguan Port Group's direct sea freight route from Dongguan to Cambodia/Vietnam officially opened.

On 22nd March, Dongguan Port Group's direct sea freight route from Dongguan to Cambodia/Vietnam officially opened.

As a famous manufacturing city, Dongguan has a large volume of goods which require shipping to Cambodia. The opening of the new Dongguan-Cambodia/Vietnam route has become a key measure for Dongguan Port to actively promote construction of the important "One Belt, One Road" initiative and enrich the route network.

Two 700TEU ships have been put into operation on the new route, each of which can reach the Sihanoukville Port of Cambodia in four days. It has become another important waterway for Dongguan enterprises to connect with "One Belt, One Road" countries.

In addition to the newly opened routes, Dongguan Port has also actively strengthened cooperation with the Guangdong (Shilong) Railway International Logistics Base to promote docking of domestic and foreign trade routes in Dongguan and the Shilong International Railway. Central Asia is connected with Russia and Eastern Europe through international trains and Dongguan Port has become a transit centre for goods from Central Asia and Europe to reach Southeast Asia. 

At present, the domestic trade routes of Dongguan Port fully cover all main ports in the north and south of China. In addition, there are 6 direct foreign trade routes newly opened, including 2 Vietnam Haiphong lines, 1 Vietnam Ho Chi Minh line, and 1 Cambodia-Vietnam route. There are also multiple trade barges providing daily marine logistics services between Dongguan Port with Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
